Social entrepreneurship (SE) plays an important role in tackling the grand challenges of our time, ranging from ecological issues like climate change to social ones such as inequality. Yet for SE to fulfill its full potential in solving societal problems, a number of questions urgently need to be addressed. How can research help the SE ecosystem to develop and flourish? And what types and kinds of education can inspire (young) people to take up these challenges through SE?
The Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) annually brings together the SE ecosystem from around the globe. In October 2023, this event will be hosted in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. On the day before the flagship event, the Research and Education Conference addresses these questions. SE educators, researchers and practitioners are invited to submit proposals for sessions at this event.
The SEWF 2023 main theme is ‘Collective Action. Sustainable Change’. The Research and Education Conference follows this theme, but particularly focuses on research and education.
The full-day event will include opening and closing plenary sessions with keynote speakers; but consists mostly of sessions as proposed by participants and approved by the Academic Committee. This will include research and education lines:
